In the Name of Allāh, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Imām Abdullah al-Ḥaddad said: Awrād (singular: wird; devotional practices or litanies) do not benefit except with consistency, and do not have an effect except with presence of heart. Excessive awrād done with haste, inattention, and lack of presence of heart and consciousness of Allāh Most High have only minimal benefits. However they are not entirely bereft of benefit and protection, if Allāh so wills, through His immense grace, and the blessings of His noble Messenger (the most excellent blessings and peace be upon him and his family).
The wird (devotional litany) that a person ought to hold fast to is saying "Lā ilāha illallāh" (There is no god but Allāh), followed by seeking forgiveness and sending blessings upon the Prophet (may the blessings and peace of Allāh be upon him).
All praise be to Allāh, Lord of the Worlds.
In the Name of Allāh, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allāh. May the blessings and peace of Allāh be upon His Messenger, our master Muḥammad bin ‛Abdillāh, and upon his family, companions and all who love and support him.
Every seeker on the spiritual path and believer eager to practice the Sunnah and attain nearness to Allāh should read from these awrād whatever they find easy. These are only a few of the many available awrād. Whoever wishes to know more should refer to the primary reference books on awrād and adhkār (singular: dhikr), such as Al-Adhkār by Imam an-Nawawī, ʿAmal al-Yawm wal Laylah by Ibn as-Sunnī, among others.
Allah provides success.
{I cannot succeed without Allah’s help: I trust in Him, and always turn to Him.}
